Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP)
PSIP (if you must, "P-Sip") is the acronym for Program and System Information Protocol, which is otherwise known as ATSC Standard A/65. PSIP conveys tightly formatted information to receivers so that receivers and viewers get the information they need to tune into particular digital and analog television programs.
Functionally, PSIP is a complement to and serves as an extension of MPEG-2 PSI, and is somewhat similar to another System Information technology called DVB-SI, which is used in DVB broadcasting.
